Gregory L. Brown -- Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer

 

Gregory L. Brown is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of USFR Media Group, the Houston-based media company he established in 2000. He is publisher of Cowboys & Indians and Western & English Today, Western lifestyle magazines owned by USFR Media Group. 

 

USFR Media Group also owns KTBU-TV Channel 55, a full power independent station in Houston that airs an eclectic line-up of classic and syndicated TV series as well as locally produced shows focusing on sports, history and other topics of interest to Houstonians. USFR Media Group also provides production and other broadcast services to Channel 55 as well as third parties at its 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art broadcast facility in Houston.

 

A Texas native, Brown founded the Gregory L. Brown Company, Inc. in 1983, a successful independent oil and gas exploration and development firm.  He also co-founded BBH Exhibits, the nation’s largest education exhibition company, which was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 2002.  Through his company, LaSalle Cattle Company, Ltd. Brown oversees investments in oil and gas and real estate.

 

Brown currently serves on the board of directors of Houston Children’s Charity and is actively involved with Rodeo Houston.  He also is a member of the Tejas Vaqueros.

Donna L. White – Vice President, Corporate Controller

Donna L. White has served as USFR Media Group’s Controller and Secretary since April 2000. From February 1998 to March 2000, she was director of financial reporting at Randall's Food Markets, Inc., a 120-store chain, where she was responsible for SEC and shareholder reporting and corporate accounting. From September 1994 to February 1998, she served as director of financial reporting for APS Holding Company, a publicly traded wholesaler and retailer of auto parts; from 1988 to 1994, she was Controller for Rawson-Koenig, Inc., a publicly traded manufacturing company. White held various positions with PriceWaterhouse Coopers, LLP from 1980-1988, including audit manager in the emerging business services group, where she audited and advised start-up and entrepreneurial companies. White is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.


Margaret L. Brown -- Executive Editor, Cowboys & Indians

Margaret L. Brown, Executive Editor of Cowboys & Indians, has been in the publishing business for 16 years. She began her career at Miller Freeman Publications in San Francisco, where she became managing editor of a leading trade publication. From there she returned to her hometown of Houston, Texas, and joined the editorial staff of Southwest Art magazine, a 30-year-old, nationally distributed monthly publication, becoming Editor in Chief of the magazine in 1997. In 2001, she developed and launched a sister title to Southwest Art, Living West, a western lifestyle magazine. She joined the staff of Cowboys & Indians in August 2002.

Susan L. Ebert – Associate Publisher and Editor, Western & English Today

Susan L. Ebert, Associate Publisher and Editor of Western & English Today, brings more than 30 years of magazine experience to her post. She is a member of the Western Writers of America, the Outdoor Writers of America Association and the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. Before taking the reins at W&E, she was publisher and editor of Texas Parks & Wildlife, a magazine with a circulation of 152,000. Prior to that, Ebert served as marketing director for American Way and Southwest Spirit magazines, and spent eight years at Rodale Press, working on Organic Gardening, Men’s Health and Rodale’s Scuba Diving. She also served six years on staff with Texas Monthly. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Miami University, and completed coursework for an MA in Advertising at the University of Texas at Austin.

 

Brandy Minick – Associate Publisher and Advertising Director, Cowboys & Indians

Brandy Minick, Advertising Director of Cowboys & Indians, was born into the Western lifestyle in Fort Worth, where she grew up around horses and was an avid team roper. Her father, Billy Minick, a former National Finalist in Bull Riding, was one of the nation’s largest rodeo producers before taking over the reins at the famed Billy Bob’s Texas entertainment center in Fort Worth. After graduating from Texas Christian University, Hawkins joined the family business at Billy Bob’s as a retail buyer in 1992. This stimulated her keen interest in Western fashion, leading to her starting Sage West Designs, a line of high-quality women’s apparel. While marketing her clothing line, she became aware of Cowboys & Indians, and joined the magazine as a regional sales manager in April 2007. She took over the responsibilities of Advertising Director in September 2007, and Associate Publisher in June 2009.

Roseann Rogers – Regional Sales/Marketing Manager, KTBU – Houston’s 55

Roseann Rogers has been a prominent figure in Houston broadcasting for more than a decade, as an on-the-air entertainment and lifestyle correspondent and, more recently, a sales and marketing manager. Since August 2009, she has presented locally produced segments for The Daily Buzz, the syndicated early-morning show that airs weekdays on Channel 55.  

Roseann began her career as DJ for the campus radio station while attending Western Kentucky University, and later helped develop and launch the Emmy Award-winning entertainment program Louisville Tonight Live. During her 13 years with Houston NBC affiliate KPRC, she covered everything from local entertainment to Hollywood headliners. She filed reports from the sets of such programs as ER, Law and Order and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, reported live from the Academy of Country Music Awards, and covered the NBA Playoffs, the National Baseball League’s Division Series Playoffs in Atlanta and Super Bowl XXXVIII.

A strong believer in giving back to her community, Roseann has been active as a fundraiser and volunteer for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, The Women’s Fund and Texas Children’s Heart Center. She is a member of the Junior League of Houston, where she handled media relations for their award-winning cookbook, Stop and Smell the Rosemary. She also received a Cancer Counseling Award for Media Excellence. As a founding board member of Dress for Success Houston, Roseann helps the organization provide interview-appropriate clothing for low-income women seeking employment.  Roseann is married to Dr. Aashish Shah, and they have a 4-year-old son, Nikhil.
